The winter storm is HERE.

Ice, Sleet, Heavy Snow coming in.

Most of the schools are closed tomorrow — now the question comes into play do “I” take off tomorrow or not. :O

Well, I better get my butt to bed incase I end up snow/ice sledding into work. LOL

  • ~inspirational friends~

This evening, I was flipping through the TV channels and trying to find something to watch. I had already watched ‘my’ show (Gilmore Girls) and with nothing much going on-line, I found myself *bored*. So, I came across the Tyra Banks talk show. Yes, I know some don’t like her — well, I happen to think she’s cool. LOL Anyway, she had a topic on, discussing how women have a distorted view of their own bodies. She had several guests on, that talked about different aspects, and of course, an author to offer her advice. Well, it got me thinking about something that a very good friend of mine had told me. See, she, like so many of us — kept a journal. However, like how most journals are.. they sometimes end up being a negative record, and normally have a sad tone. Anyway, she started a “Joy Journal’. And, she made it a point (I believe daily, but at the very least weekly) to write something in her “Joy Journal” that brought her joy that day. It could be something as simple as a quote she heard, perhaps a joke, or something else. It didn’t have to be a deep emotional thought provoking entry.. just something that brought her joy. This got me to thinking… and I notice so often times I only write when I’m down… and when I can’t seem to get things out in anyother manner. Sure, I write other times as well, but *most* often is something dealing with sadness in some form. So — I’m going to try to incorporate JOY into my blog. Some blog entries might be something as simple as a quote or a lyric, or maybe something that’s abstract to anyone who reads it. But, I’m going to test this practice…. maybe you should have your own “Joy Journal” :) All too often, we forget to focus on the small pleasures in life, and we only seem to focus on the large things, or the bad things… Find the Joys in your Day. :)  ~S

    -Black Friday-

I braved it… like I do every year. And every year, I say… “I’m not going out in the madness THIS year”. Yet, every year I find at least ONE thing that I simply *must* have. It’s like an addiction. I don’t really like shopping. Well, get me in an electronics store, or books, or purses and I can shop for hours and hours. Otherwise? no thank you. I’d rather shop online. I don’t like going to the malls… I used to when I was a teen, but I’ve long outgrown those days. Anyway… this year, i was excited to go through all the Black Friday ads. I was sure there were going to be tons of things listed that I *had* to have. To my surprise, there were but a few. — So, after cooking Thanksgiving Dinner… eating a delicious meal (yes, I’m bragging on myself here -lol- it was my first Thanksgiving Meal by myself).. then cleaning up the mess… take a much needed nap. I was preparing my strategy. I had to go to two places… Radio Shack and The Devil’s house… some may know this place by it’s nicer name… “Wal-Mart”.  So, at 4:15am off I go — first stop, Wal-Mart. Only needed to grab a few things, didn’t take long at all.. surprisingly, I got what I needed and all back in the car within 45 minutes. WOOHOO! Then, off I am across the street to Radio Shack. Only 2 people in line. YES, this is my day. LOL — so, I’m standing inline the store opens at 6am. That’s right, not 5:55am even though there were 20 employees there. Oh no. When they say 6:00am, they MEAN 6:00am sharp. The door oepns, and we rush in. I go directly to the side of the store for mp3 players. *GASPS* they have only ONE of the one that I want! My hand grasps it firmly and I’m not letting go! People swarm in behind me and trying to reach around me…. grabbing and pushing. I calmly, let them know that the Radio Shack person has to unlock the rack for them to come off. (umm DUH, you think I’m just standing here for my freaking health??). Anyway… The employee comes over and notices me, hell he should, I’ve been here since forever. He unlocks my mp3 player and takes it to the counter…. others’ are screaming “i want this one, I want that one” and he says — I’ll come back after I check her out. HAHHAHAHAHAHA -grins- So, with all that said and done, I got both items that I wanted and was out of the store in 15 minutes! I drive myself home in a daze (I’ve not slept except an hour earlier….) and get home… unload the car, and change clothes (halfway) and fall into bed. Ahhhh, another Black Friday Down. — I’m not going next year! (Yeah right…lol)

Now comes the time that I gotta start figuring out what to buy everyone. Part of me wants to do gift cards for everyone… but, that’s kinda boring. So, who knows. I’m not giving any hints here… (family might read this) LOL

If you’ve not shopped on a Black Friday before, you really should give it a shot. Sure, it’s a pain, but it’s also exciting. People are crazy… and I do mean CRAZY. There were fights at some stores… kids and adults both. Sure, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is nice… but COME ON!! And yeah, the $99.99 laptop was cool too.. but it’s not worth fighting over. LOL  So if you go next year, best of luck! My advice? go with another person… divide and conqour!

… well testosterone is busting at the seams (I’m at Buffalo Wild Wings and FOOTBALL is on every tv that the eye can see). so I’m outta here for now :)

    Ugh..

It’s that time again. I have to enroll for next semester. I’m really not ready -laughs- but, I guess I have to get back on it and working towards my goal. It would help, of course, if I could select a major and stick with it. I hate it when I can’t make up my mind — so many decisions, etc. I think that overall my best bet is going to be to get the AA in Liberal Studies, and then go and get the BA or MA in a selected field. I’m closer to the AA In Liberal Studies than I am the others… that’s a big selling point to me. -lol- Not that I want to get out of school, I’d just like to get at least one big accomplisment out of the way :)

So with semester faster approaching; I’m faced with choosing the class (yes, I only am taking one class each semester) — I’m also doing self-study of Algebra because I want to get more comfortable doing it, before I go and get into the College Algebra that is required. LOL I always did well in Math in school before, but I’m just nervous about it. — anyway, here are the classes that I’m pondering on…

    1. Introduction to Cinema
    2. Introduction to Meterology
    3. Digital Imaging
    4. Music In Life
    5. American Literature from 1865
    6. Principles In Management

So yeah.. there ya go. LOL

Well, it’s now 1am, and I should have my butt in bed.. so I’m slipping off to grab some sleep. Hope you all have a great Humpday tomorrow! I’m counting down for the weekend. :)

  • Whew!

Okay, today (off and on) I’ve been in WP Theme hell. Yes, that’s right. I decided to change the theme (again) — yeah, didn’t I warn you about this? ;)

Anyway, I changed themes, added some nifty plug-ins. I have these great Yahoo smilies :X and I have a cool calender over there ~> — I think that I’m happy with it. Well, for now anyway. HAHA. I  might change the header image though.. hrmmms.

The elections were interesting to say the least. I’m am pleased to find that there is a ‘change’ of some sorts going to come into the government. It’s about time for a change. (Please, hold all hate mail. lol)

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I’m ready for the week! Well that’s it for now. Just wanted to post something quick :)

    Have a good Friday tomorrow!

  • –insane, or something like it

Okay, I think that I have to be insane. I mean, who in their right mind would do this to themselves? -ha- NO ONE, that’s right. However.. not me, oh no, somewhere a few months back, I (for whatever reason that is unknown to me at this time) I decided it would be a GRAND idea to join NaNoWriMo – Basically, my *smart* self, gets to write a 50,000 word Novel in 30 days. That’s right. Authors all over the world spend months and months, even years working on a Novel. But, yours truly is going to try to get one done in 30 short days. So, on average — I need to write 1,667 words per day to get this done. I know that’s not possible, with Work, School, Family, Friends, Life, etc. So, I’ll be ‘catching up’ on the weekends hopefully. *laughs* We are going to see how it goes, I’m not sure if I’ll have enough focus, plots, ideas, characters that I can do it this time.. I might have to wait until next year. We shall see! LOL

Work is going okay, I’m training a new employee all this week. So of course, it’s thrown me off my normal processes, but overall I think it’s going well. :)

School is.. well, school. Honestly, I need to catch up. Between being out of town for a week, then being sick off and on, I’ve fallen behind. So time to kick my ass in gear and get it together and get where I need to be.

    Well.. that’s it for now.
