Lightning Crashes

I love thunderstorms. The electricity that is in the air, followed by the sparks and flashes as the lightning crashes across a darkened sky. I love how the rain pours down, in what seems like buckets, and how some of the raindrops sting as they pelt against tender skin. I love the roar of the thunder and how it rumbles and vibrates the earth. I love how the sky becomes dark and it’s as if some great power is sweeping over me, and I can feel the storm coming and it’s energy as it brings unusual things to the surface. I like watching the water as it falls off buildings, or down streams and creates little rivers out of even the smallest ditch. I love the weather. The rain.

Of course, I don’t care for Tornados at all. I’ve been through way too many of them, and I still hate them and yes…. they scare me. I’m not afraid to admit that should a Tornado Warning be near, and I hear sirens, that something inside of me panics and I start to get nervous, I get scared. So. Very. Scared. And at the same time, I like watching shows about Tornados, and who am I kidding… I would love to chase a storm or two. Maybe I’m crazy, or maybe it’s just the thrill of it all. — It’s storming here. There are Tornados but only in the surrounding cities… so far. I’m hoping that they miss us. I stood in the rain today, only briefly because there were just too many things to do, and not enough time to do them in. The rain felt wonderful. It was a cool rain, the wind was blowing a little bit, so it made the rain have even more force. It was great… if only I would have had more time this evening.
